Geoffrey Wawro

Dr. Geoffrey Wawro is Professor of History and Director of the Military History Center at the University of North Texas. From 2000-2005 he was Professor of Strategic Studies at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. Dr. Wawro’s Ph.D is from Yale University, his B.A. Magna Cum Laude from Brown University.

He is the author of seven highly regarded books: Sons of Freedom: The Forgotten American Soldiers Who Defeated Germany in World War I (2018), A Mad Catastrophe: The Outbreak of World War I and the Collapse of the Habsburg Empire (2014), Quicksand: America's Pursuit of Power in the Middle East (2010) The Franco-Prussian War: The German Conquest of France in 1870-71 (2003), Warfare and Society in Europe, 1792-1914 (2000) and The Austro-Prussian War: Austria’s War with Prussia and Italy in 1866 (1996),
