Creator and Host of Hardcore History Podcast

University of Colorado Boulder graduate Dan Carlin (B.A. History 1989) broke into the television news business in Los Angeles in 1989 and between 1992 and 2002 was a television news reporter and a radio broadcast journalist in the Pacific Northwest. In 2005 he began podcasting and is considered to be a pioneer in the medium. His award-winning podcast Dan Carlin's Hardcore History has been downloaded more than 100 million times.

Carlin is the co-creator of War Remains, an award-winning, WWI “immersive memory" virtual reality experience. He is also the author of the New York Times 2019 bestseller The End is Always Near: Apocalyptic Moments from the Bronze Age Collapse to Nuclear Near Misses. Carlin lives with his wife and two teenage daughters in Eugene, Oregon.
